One-2-One
In Immanuel we place great emphasis, not simply on starting as a Christian but also on lasting as a Christian. The gospel is God's power to save us but it is also God's power to shape us and transform us into the likeness of Jesus. In other words we never grow out of the gospel.
In order to ensure that we are all growing as Christians we are committed to meeting one-2-one with one another, to read the Bible, pray together and seek to encourage one another to see the difference that Jesus makes to all of life.
You don't have to be anyone special to do this and you don't need any special training. All you need is a Bible and one other person. It does involve however a certain mindset. You need great confidence in a God who speaks powerful words to change us. You need a love for other people, enough love to meet with them and pray for them once a week. And you need a heart for mission, building one another up in maturity to serve God and his gospel wherever he calls.
