History

Beginnings

Immanuel Church Dublin is an old church for new beginnings. It has a long and notable past. Historically it grew from 'The Mission Church' (a church entirely supported by Irish Church Missions).  However on 16th September 2006 Immanuel Church Dublin was launched, establishing a new relationship with ICM and setting out as a young, multilingual, city centre church.

Early Days

Very early in the life of Immanuel the staff team, led by Eddie Coulter, decided to add an evening meeting to the original Sunday morning.  It began with five people sitting round a table looking at the Bible.  Soon both Sunday morning and evening began to grow, attracting students, young workers who had recently moved to the city and many internationals who were seeking to make Dublin their home.

Belonging to Immanuel

Late in 2007 the church began to meet on Wednesday evenings (centrally in ICM) for small groups.  This suited those who were already established as Christians but over the course of the following year it became more apparent that there was the need for an opportunity for others to explore Christianity, especially those from the international community.  A multilingual small group and one in Farsi added to the growing interest.  Today Immanuel continues to meet twice on Sunday and together on Wednesday evenings, along with a number of other ministries throughout the week.

Sundays

On Sundays, Immanuel continues to meet at 11am and 6.45pm.  There are a host of training events and other ministries to get involved in, including on the last Sunday of each month a service specifically tailored for the Iranian Community in Ireland.  Immanuel Church Dublin lives for Jesus as his new society: proclaiming him, loving people, aiming for mature transformed lives that live for him.
